McFly to release memoir on rise to fame
McFly have signed a deal to release a book on their rise to fame.
The memoir, to be released through Transworld Publishers, will chart the journey of Harry Judd, Dougie Poynter, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher from their early days sharing a house in Finchley to becoming the youngest band ever to reach number one with their debut album.
The book is promised to be “a frank, funny and original insight into the lives of one of the UK’s best-loved bands”, through which readers “will get to know the men behind McFly in a way they never thought they would”.
A release from Transworld continues: “It will include surprising tales of growing up in the limelight and the euphoric highs and desperate lows along the way.
“But, more than that, it will shine a light on what it takes to make it to the top and stay there for nine years, all told in their unique and inimitable style.”

Check out this oh-so adorable photo of a young Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones.
The early McFly photo was tweeted by bandmate Dougie Poynter, who posed the image with the caption, “Who are these two trendy dudes!?!?!?”
Tom, Danny, Dougie and Harry Judd have come along way since back then. If you’d told us then that these fellas would be big and buff and in the buff on the cover of Attitude magazine we’d never have believed you…

McFly’s comeback tour has been put in jeopardy after guitarist Tom Fletcher dislocated his shoulder.
The group – which also includes Dougie Poynter, Danny Jones and Harry Judd – were training with the Saracens rugby squad to promote a concert at the Watford club next month, but one of the players sent Tom flying, much to the initial amusement of his bandmates.
However, they didn’t find it so funny when Tom had to be stretchered off and treated by the club’s medical team on Wednesday (15.02.12).

McFly interview: ‘We can’t imagine splitting up’
Now approaching their ninth year as a band, McFly are on the cusp of an important transition: from pre-pubescent boyband to fully-fledged manband.
After a successful stint on the reality circuit which saw Dougie Poynter crowned king of the jungle on I’m a Celeb and Harry Judd win Strictly Come Dancing, the group have promptly re-entered the studio to work on their sixth studio album.
Digital Spy caught up with Harry ahead of their Wembley Stadium gig next month to find out more about said-record.
You’re in rehearsals today for a show at Wembley Stadium next month. Do you still get nervous about large gigs?
“We still get quite nervous; especially with a show like this when it’s not a crowd who have come out to see you. We’re down at the Saracens training ground today for some rehearsals for our halftime show and to do some training with the teams, which should be fun. Getting some exercise in whilst working is handy!”

Exclusive: McFly’s Harry Judd: ‘We took our success for granted’
McFly have claimed that they took their success for granted before releasing their last album.
The group’s drummer Harry Judd, who won last year’s Strictly Come Dancing, told Digital Spy that the band spent too long out of the public eye before releasing 2010′s Above The Noise, which peaked at number 20 on the album charts.
Speaking ahead of band’s live show at Wembley Stadium tonight, Judd said: “We did an album in 2010, but we had a long gap between album four and five. We’d been going for six or seven years; it took a year and a half to make it, and we didn’t do any publicity during that time.
“I think we realised how hard it was to get people interested again. I think we’d taken our success for granted. Thankfully the album went well and we had a big hit with ‘Shine A Light’, which meant we could go on tour again.”
