Keep calm and remember the McFly tour
It’s been a week since McFly put the Keep Calm and Play Louder tour to bed. As the post-tour blues start to creep up on us we reflect on what was quite possibly McFly’s best tour yet.
Here at Flecking Records we’ve never been ashamed to admit we love McFly, so you can imagine our delight in attending no less than five dates of the Keep Calm and Play Louder Tour, and this tour had it all! We laughed, we almost cried, we certainly boogied, we got spat on and every night we fell in love with McFly all over again.
What better way to start the evening than with a great opening band? With a fantastic cover of Adele’s ‘Set Fire To The Rain’ and original songs such as ‘Hurts’ and ‘Line Up The Stars’ our love affair with Ivyrise began! Keep your eyes peel to see what the band said about McFly, touring and their album in our upcoming interview.
Suddenly, the wait – which seems like years – was finally over. We hadn’t seen the boys since Jolly Day Out last year, and we didn’t realise quite how much we’d missed them until we heard the classic YMCA announcement! The time had come to Keep Calm and Play Louder!

No matter what genre the McFly boys’ try next the fans will keep coming back
The Sunday Mirror’s unashamedly huge McFly fan Rachael Wheeler sees the foursome on the final leg of their tour
With the Olympics and Jubilee around the corner, McFly opened the final leg of their Keep Calm and Play Louder tour to the sound of the National Anthem. But, like, a really cool and jazzy version.
Despite the topical name, the patriotic gigs were essentially a greatest hits tour for the London band’s die hard fans (which unashamedly includes myself), with guitar led numbers like Broccoli and No Worries making the older members in the audience whoop, while more popular songs Star Girl and All About You had everyone warbling along in wobbly, excitable voices.

McFly Talks Coming to America, New Music & One Direction
While the British pop-rock band McFly has notched 17 top 10 singles and six top 20 albums on the Official U.K. charts since their debut in 2004, most Americans are still unaware of the four cheeky lads.
But that could change come September — when the band has tentative plans to head to the U.S. for a few targeted shows.
“We just want to go over and do some small shows for the fans that we know we have there,” says McFly’s co-lead singer and guitarist Tom Fletcher. “We’ve been wanting to do that for years and years and years and years. But we’ve just never had the opportunity, or something else has come up.”
“We have some fans in America that have been fans for like eight or nine years — right from the beginning — so much so that they fly over to see us in the U.K. It’s amazing that they are so dedicated. So I think we owe it to them to come over.”

TOM FLETCHER WRITES FOR ONE DIRECTION
MCFLY have been given the task of writing One Direction’s second album.
After penning ace track I Want for their debut disc Up All Night, which recently hit No 1 in the US Billboard Hot 100, singer Tom Fletcher is busy scribbling down more ideas while on the road with his own band.
The 26-year-old told me during a break from McFly’s sell-out Keep Calm And Play Louder tour: “I can’t wait to write more tunes for One Direction as I’m really proud of their success in America.
“I haven’t been given a brief as to what kind of song they want from me, we’re just waiting to see what I come up with.”
One Direction have been flying the flag for Blighty overseas. The fivesome are now wowing Canadian fans who have barricaded the lads in everywhere they go.
