McFly: ‘We’ll record a reggae album’

Although, this news turned out to be untrue, I’ll post it anyways…

McFly have revealed that they are considering recording a reggae album.

The group, whose forthcoming album features pop producers Taio Cruz and Dallas Austin, admit that they often turn many of their hits into Jamaican-style numbers when rehearsing for shows.

“A reggae album could definitely happen,” Danny Jones told the Daily Star.

“We always mess about with our songs at sound checks or rehearsals, turning them into reggae tracks. That’s the beauty of pop, you can incorporate all styles.

“I never got the whole pigeonholing thing. It’s healthy to let more and more genres influence you.”

Jones added that their currently untitled LP was inspired by a number of influences not seen in their music before.

“We focused on Prince and Michael Jackson influences that maybe we hadn’t acknowledged before,” he said.

“We sound big and heavy now so we are modernising the old stuff for a big tour in March.”
